Thanks to moms who sent their men and boys to our store for Mother’s Day gifts. Throughout the year, women make up the majority of our fair trade customer base. So, it was nice to see a spike in male traffic.

Gentlemen, I hope your loved ones enjoy the jewelry, home accessories and stories associated with your purchase. Now, I have to go read up on male shopping behavior to keep you coming back.

Commercial success of Mother’s Day aside, contrary to popular belief, Mother’s Day was not invited by Hallmark to sell more cards. It was seeded, in the U.S., by Julia Ward Howe’s 1870 call for peace and disarmament. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day.
