A letter from Kitty–Ten Thousand Villages of Austin is moving!
Dear Villages of Austin Volunteers and Fans,
With the start of a new year on the horizon so is the beginning of a journey for Ten Thousand Villages of Austin. We have outgrown our fun and eclectic space on South Congress and the search for a larger, Austin location with easier accessibility has begun. Our South Congress address has enabled us to support artisans successfully for 10 years, but now we must find a larger space that is cost effective for our non-profit dollar and that enables us to increase our fair trade orders to artisans.
The Operations team and I are diligently narrowing down our future location options for a move scheduled after the holidays. With a location that offers plenty of parking and great visibility, I feel sure that our new space will be home to more local shoppers plus a chance to make strong connections with the surrounding neighborhood. I see this as an opportunity to grow our roots deeper in Austin, developing our organization into a more accessible destination for local residents.
I am excited to utilize my creative talents to, once again, build and grow a fair trade store that provides empowerment and hope to thousands of artisans worldwide. With the help of staff and volunteers, I will do my ultimate best to ensure success of our goal to expand the artisan marketplace in a sustainable Austin environment. I value your support, commitment and dedication to our mission and look forward to creating another successful Austin Ten Thousand Villages with you.
